Why do i need to understand the data ?

Temperature

Knowing that the person in your care is warm helps maintain their health and wellbeing. If a person is too hot they can become dehydrated and suffer from heat exhaustion and if they are too cold their body can go into shock and are more susceptible to hypothermia and increased long term health issues.

Humidity

Similar to temperature, humidity plays a key role in a persons personal comfort. If too high there is a high risk dehydration, fatigue and air born infections. If too low you are more susceptible too cold and flus and respiratory issues. And with the increased risk of Covid-19 monitoring humidity can help spot early warning signs

Electricity status

Having access to main utilities is a basic requirement for any household and simply being reassured that there is power running to items like the fridge and heating will allow those in a position of care to have reduced anxiety.

Air Pressure

High and low pressure systems cause day-to-day changes in our weather but can also cause pressure on the body. If too low you can have cause pain in joints for those with arthritis and affect those with breathing troubles. If too high can cause headaches, ear aches and nausea.

Light levels

If there is an absence of light in the property this may be a warning sign that the person in your care is not moving and may not have opened the curtains. Changes in daily activity can help us to understand the health of the person and gain advanced notification of behavioural patterns.

Motion / Movement Detection

Properties often have predictable patterns of movement through the day and night and the most simplest thing is knowing how to spot anomaly's in behavioural patterns.

Similarly if you are the custodian of a building monitoring doors can also determine if fire doors are working efficiently and monitoring uncharacteristic behaviour.
Readings Used: Movement and Light

Noise levels & listening out for alarms

If noise is registered at the property, low levels can help you to be reassured that the person in your care is active and mobile. High levels of noise may be causing stress and discomfort. Knowing the difference is key to health and wellbeing.

The Safehouse system is also configured to listen out for fire and gas alarms, but increased heat and lack of Carbon Dioxide would also signify warning signs of a fire in the property.

Within the app you can directly call your client to check up on their status and establish if it was a false alarm or if you need to call the emergency services

Carbon Monoxide levels

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, tasteless, poisonous gas produced by incomplete burning of carbon-based fuels, including gas, oil, wood and coal.

You can't see it, taste it or smell it but CO can kill quickly without warning and generally caused by gas appliances and flues that have not been properly installed, maintained or that are poorly ventilated, Levels that do not kill can cause serious harm to health if breathed in over a long period.

Carbon Dioxide levels

Through the monitoring of Carbon Dioxide (CO2), you are able to detect possible overcrowding in homes and work places. This can lead to personal discomfort of your clients and reduced productivity for employers.
Readings Used: C02, Motion

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

VOCs are released from burning fuel such as gasoline, wood, coal, or natural gas but hey are also released from many consumer products such as printing and photocopying machines, paint solvents, cleaning products, solvents and some non-electric space heaters. Monitoring VOC levels increases the comfort of your clients working environment.
