The company behind Safehouse Technology is Secure Sensors Innovative Design Ltd (SSID), registered in 2013. SSID has been involved with many innovative projects since it begun, and has manufactured range of sensors including the unique Safehouse Hub. SSID launched Safehouse Technology in January 2018 as the result of an Innovate UK project that took place in Liverpool.
Our Vision
Within three years, SSID aims to be the organisation of choice in the UK for wireless monitoring services for at-home social care and the maintenance of buildings. Income will come from a monthly service charge for operation and one-off charges for system design, installation and refurbishment. Safehouse will be known as a service that works from the outset and realises benefits for clients with a pragmatic and economic approach. The company is recognised for being customer focused, supportive and results driven.
Lionel Phillips
CEO & DirectorLionel Phillips is the Managing Director of Secure Sensor Innovative Design Ltd with specific responsibility for operations and business development. Lionel has a comprehensive business background in corporate management, with a proven ability to direct in a variety of sectors within multi-national environments. Previously he worked with IBM in New Product Development for banking products and in Public Sector Sales with a £200 million revenue target. As Managing Director of Hyder Business Services (part of Welsh Water) Lionel bought a loss-making division and turned it around to a profit situation in less than a year. With Dimension Data Lionel managed the establishing and launch of two multilingual contact centres; a 400 person site for Apple Inc in Cork and one for Credit Swiss in Switzerland. He has also been the country operations manager for The New Zealand Dairy Board (Anchor) and currently sits on the board of the government 5G test bed for Social Care.
John Griffiths
CTO & DirectorJohn Griffiths is the Technology Director and leads the development of the Safehouse products. He was responsible for the conception and design of the Safehouse system and senor. John is a co-founder and CTO of Secure Sensor Innovative Design Ltd. He has set up and successfully run several technology and consultancy companies over the last 30 years, including Griffiths Associates where he is the Managing Director, which implemented the first cloud care support system for Bournemouth Borough Council. John specialises in healthcare technology, Smart City development and data centre creation.
He was the ICT Specialist for the Welsh Government for 12 years where he worked with academic institutions and companies such as Orange, Intel, Cisco, BT, Thales, Telefonica and Microsoft. He was the project lead on £70m BT Datacenter (2002), the government representative at the EU Connected Health Think Tank and the ministerial advisor on the Futures and Horizons IT Special Interest Group. Most recently, John was a Technical Specialist in the Department for International Trade for Smart Cities and IoT with responsibility for the Far East.
Kieran Brady
Product Specialist & Technical Sales AdvisorKieran Brady is the Product Specialist and Technical Sales Advisor. He has worked with Secure Sensor Innovative Design Ltd since 2015 and has intimate knowledge of Safehouse devices and technology. Kieran graduated with a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics in 2015 from the University of Plymouth. By working on the Safehouse service over the last 5 years, he has gained expertise in Cloud based LoRa management systems and payload management for IoT sensors. Kieran has been involved with the development of the Safehouse 'End-to-end' IOT service, consisting of hardware, software and cloud services. He takes the lead on assessment and procurement of OEM sensors for use within the Safehouse system.
Gaganpreet Singh
Software SpecialistGagan is a Software Specialist. He completed his MSc in Advance Computer Science from Cardiff University where he achieved the top mark in the Distributed and Cloud Computing Module. Gagan joined Secure Sensor Innovative Design Ltd in 2017 to help develop the software systems. He has 5 years’ experience working with Telecom and IT companies in India prior to coming to the UK.
Gagan is the software architect of Viper(SaaS) Internet of Things (IoT) developed over Cloud solution for the Safehouse LoRaWAN sensors that monitor environmental conditions in homes and the health and well-being of the elderly. He specialises in developing Cloud infrastructure and several programming languages such as Java, JavaScript / jQuery, React.js, Node.js, Bootstrap, Oracle, SQL to name a few. He has recently expanded his expertise to include the server elements of Safehouse Technology.
Jen Abel
Digital content creatorJen is a Digital content creator. She is growing Secure Sensor Innovative Design Ltd virtual audience and engagement. 8 years experience in community engagement in the third sector. Bi-lingual Welsh speaker.
Sara Milfajtova
Marketing ExecutiveSara joined Secure Sensor Innovative Design Ltd in Dec 2019 responsible for product placement and marketing. Originally from Czech Republic, she comes from a thespian background and is looking to follow this career in the UK.
Brian Doherty
Non-ExecutiveBrian has a career in corporate management for over 30 years, predominantly in the telecommunications, fibreoptic and technology sectors. From wholesale capacity sales with Virgin Media and Fibernet PLC, to enabling new networks for Energis/BBC, Brian has built a career on developing innovative solutions and delivering those on time and under budget.
Most recently, Brian founded the in building connectivity team at Hyperoptic, the UK ISP, then went on to found the property team which installed fibreoptics into new build premises across the UK.
